I took the Comprehensive Laser course at NLI in May 2009, I interviewed a week after returning home with several laser centers and received job offers immediately! One hour after receiving our certificates, Chrissy in admissions called me to let me know that a NY doctor called NLI and left a message about wanting to hire one of their graduates. I got a job interview with him for that Friday, not even one week after graduating! The day after I got home, I started calling local med spas and salons so that I could check out all of my options. I kept calling, and finally one woman gave me a job interview that SAME DAY. She hired me on the spot. On my way home I stopped at one of the places that said no to me by phone that I was really interested in, and I gave them my resume in person. I ended up walking to the back office for another interview, they showed me the machine they use, I spoke to the owner, and next thing I knew I had another job!!! Dear NLI,
I graduated NLI in November of 2006. Let me say that my training there opened many doors for me, most importantly, my own. But first, after my graduation, I put in about 6 months at american laser clinic. I was hired the minute I walked in the door. Their own technicians had the maximum 3 days training, so my knowledge and understanding of the industry was superior to even my manager. However, I wanted to get inside the day to day business of laser hair removal and skin rejuvenation and so I worked there to absorb as much as I could. Early this year, I started the process of buying a used IPL and new Silk Peel. I added these to my esthetics equipment and opened for business in May. I lease a small suite in a building with many hairdressers, manicurists, and other estheticians they have been so supportive; sending me lots of business to get me off to a great start. As we all know the business of laser hair removal and advanced skin treatments are highly competitive. I get calls all day long from price shoppers. But that is ok. I cannot and do not want to compete for the lowest price. My speciality is a full understanding of the physics of light based skin and hair removal treatments and their reactions with the human body. I provide a luxurious and clean environment, and I am there for my clients at the time of the service and after. By the way I have received only 1 call from a client with a concern in 8 months time. So this is where I stand, I have a little baby laser & advanced skin spa. And like a baby it will have to be nurtured and will need all my attention and creativity to keep it growing. As a former student of the National Laser Institute, I highly recommend this school for anyone interested in Laser Technology. I am new to the field of esthetics and recently relocated to the Phoenix area. I attempted to find employment as an esthetician but was continuously told I lacked experience. I decided to further my education by becoming laser certified. Within two weeks of completing the courses at the National Laser Institute I found employment as a laser technician and aesthetician. While attending classes at NLI, I was awed with the organization, knowledge and professionalism of the staff. They go above and beyond in regards to hands-on training, clarifying questions and always ensuring that students are comfortable. The curriculum at NLI is phenomenal with a huge emphasis on laser safety. Learning the proper laser skill set is one thing, but its equally important to learn how to grow our own business and not depend upon others. The instructor was a marketing guru who had been wildly successful marketing beauty over the years and owned a medical spa. I also liked the variety of instructors at NLI. Students can expect to hear from dermatologists, nurses, laser representatives, entrepreneurs, and a laser safety officer. Just wanted to give you an update and let you know that I was hired by BioDerm Skin Care & Laser Center here in Dallas, Texas at the end of September, 2007. At the moment they have two locations, one in Garland, Tx, and the other in Arlington, TX. I have been with them for a mere two weeks, in training, and they told me that I will be the first person that they have ever hired that will have completed their training in record time. Training at BioDerm usually takes one month, as they are very cautious and thorough when training a new employee. My training will be completed in two weeks! They cannot believe that I have never work in another Med Spa before, and have gone so far as to tell me that they thought that I was a spy from another Med Spa because I was so knowledgeable with the lasers, and had such a good technique. They are actually wanting to groom me to run the next location that they are planning on opening in Highland Village, about 5 minutes from my house, which is perfect for me!!! I just wanted to say THANK YOU again for all that the National Laser Institute taught me. The school is exemplary, and I have recommended it to several of my friends and co-workers even to a couple of patients interested in getting into the field. Please keep me updated as to when Louis will be opening up the next NLI here in Dallas so that I can direct people to it. The National Laser Institute has provided me with the proper education, knowledge, and hands on training that I feel is essential in today's market in aesthetics. The hands-on training and the theory have given me the confidence that will help in the job search. My teacher was an extraordinary person whom I have a lot of respect for- she is extremely intelligent, well experienced, very informative and congenial. She makes sure everybody understands the theory of the Laser Hair Removal and treated all students equal and fair, she is absolutely congenial. I definitely recommend her as a teacher. She's the best, which made the class all the fun especially during the hands on training when we were all so busy. I definitely would recommend this school for I feel it was well worth the price. The curriculum I feel was intense but gave me the proper knowledge and information, which I feel anybody should know who wants to do Laser Hair Removal. Beats a five-hour seminar any day. My husband and I moved to Arizona in September of 2004 and after a few months of job hunting with disappointing prospects, I decided I needed more education to find a job I would be happy with. After some Internet hunting and comparison-shopping, I decided on the National Laser Institute. The Institute appealed to me in several ways. I was pleased to find that the Institute offered more hours than what was required by the state of Arizona and the curriculum was very in-depth, with lots of hands on training and observation hours. And because financing was available I was able to attend right away. Training was wonderful and the instructor was unbelievably knowledgeable and confident. Classes progressed at a pace that was stimulating but not overwhelming and the support of the instructor and the entire staff at Physicians Skin Institute was top of the line. When it came time to do treatments, the instructor led us through and enabled us to grow with each while gaining confidence so that we felt able to go out into the working world and be successful. I gained employment with Advanced Laser Clinics in Scottsdale before I even graduated from the Institute. The clinic approached the Institute and was referred to me for an interview. I was told upon being offered the position of Laser Technician that I was the prime candidate of all interviewees because I was attending the National Laser Institute.  -Allison Madigan -
