NLI Admissions Staff

Tiffany

  • Hobbies: I love to watch the Arizona Cardinals play football!
  • Pets: Isabella and Sofie (my kitties). In the process of trying to eat the whole world, they’re about half-done.
  • Hometown: San Ramon, California
  • Favorite Treatment: Laser Tattoo Removal, it really works and I can testify to that!

facultyAlthough I’m from California, I officially consider myself an Arizonian and just may be the biggest Arizona Cardinals fan in the state. Some say Christmas is their favorite time of the year, but for me, its football season! I was even involved in the hair styling of the Cardinals Cheerleading Squad for three years! I received my Bachelors Degree from Northern Arizona University and my Cosmetology License from Classic Beauty College. Working in the skin and beauty industry, and talking to people from all over the world, helping them navigate their career paths and goals is easy for me. I’m a people person by nature, and I know the business, so developing trust with students when they call and email me for information is very important to me!

Carolyn

  • Hobbies: My pugs! Shopping, anything outdoors, eating yogurt, poolside BBQ days, singing and music.
  • Pets: Layla and Roxy (my Pugs).
  • Hometown: Fort Madison, Iowa
  • Favorite Treatment: Botox. I started when I was 23 years old and I’m hooked for life!

facultyI attended received my Bachelors Degree from Liberty University in Virginia. I decided I wanted to wake up every day to sunshine and palm trees, so I moved Arizona 3 years ago and love it here. No more ice scrapers for me! My favorite success story here at NLI comes from a student of mine who was very nervous about her financial investment and the job opportunities that would follow completion of our program. The same week she was in school I received a call from a local dermatologist looking for a laser tech. Not only did she land a great job at a derm's office but landed it while she was still in school! I keep every note and kind thank you email I have ever received from my students. Thanks Guys! The most rewarding part of my job is to be able to see you succeed with your passions for the Medical Aesthetics field.

Leah

  • Hobbies: Hiking, cooking, watching comedy sitcoms and movies.
  • Pets: Sage (my Akita).
  • Hometown: Versailles, Ohio
  • Favorite Treatment: Laser Hair removal because it’s fun to see the hair fall out after the treatment!

facultyI have been in love with the Skincare and Medical Aesthetics industry for as long as I can remember, and graduated from The Columbus Medical Electrology and Skin Care Institute in 2005. My favorite thing about working in admissions for National Laser Institute is not only helping my students discover their love for the industry, but also getting a close up view, every day, of how this entire field really helps people look and feel their best!

Crissy

  • Hobbies: I love nature (yes I’m a tree-hugger), photography, sushi, cooking and shoes, shoes, shoes!
  • Pets: Igwena Rose (my sweet little 15-year-old Green Iguana).
  • Hometown: California
  • Favorite Treatment: IPL Photofacials. I’m addicted!

I’m a mom to a wonderful 23 year old son. I stayed at home for over two decades before I entered the work force and now I’m an Aesthetician, Certified Laser Technician and Admissions Representative for NLI. I think it’s awesome that we get to meet so many people from all over the world who fly in just to come to our school, but my favorite success story comes from right around the corner. My mother, who at age 64 (am I supposed to admit that over the internet, sorry mom), after years of being retired, decided to come to our 14-day Comprehensive program and begin a new chapter of her life. I’m so proud of her determination and accomplishments in the field!

Laurie

  • Hobbies: #1 Gym Rat, yoga, swimming, reading, spending time with friends and especially family!
  • Pets: Kramer (my 12-year-old cat)
  • Hometown: New York, New York
  • Favorite Treatment: Chemical peels! They dramatically enhance my laser treatments, both before and after!

My family is my greatest treasure, as I’ve been married for 31 years, yes 31 years, and have two incredible kids that impress me every day and still manage to keep me on my toes! I’ve been with National Laser Institute since the very first day they opened their doors, and have seen many students come and go on to do great things. My favorite story has to be the day that two girls received word (while in the clinical portion of class) that they had both landed positions as laser technicians in the same medical spa facility. I remember the two of them coming over to my office full of excitement because they had not even graduated yet, but already had jobs. It really gave the class a lot of energy, and was extremely rewarding for me at the same time.

Erin

I have always been captivated by the booming skincare and laser industry, and can’t seem to get enough of it! I love my position as an admissions representative here at NLI and helping people everyday achieve their dreams and goals of a new and exciting career in this field. The amazing life changes that can be accomplished with this training are astounding!

Deciding to break into the Health and Beauty Industry? From personal experience, Do it! After 12 years of managing and training a collections team; it was time to make a change! Even as a teenager I have always had a passion with skincare and beauty. I decided to take a completely different road and go back to school. I received my Aesthetician License 2 years ago and have had the chance to experience a few different opportunities. I have done sales and training for a skincare company and I have managed a medical spa. What I like most about this industry is helping people feel and look that best they can. Now, being in admissions at National Laser Institute, I have the pleasure of meeting individuals who are deciding to make that same career change and I have the opportunity to help them through it. This industry has unlimited opportunities, so please go ahead and change your life.

Jen

  • Pets: MaryJane (5-year-old Shepherd, Lab and Chow mix)

facultyI moved from my hometown of Syracuse to Phoenix, Arizona in May of 2008, and have not regretted it for one second. I love to go to concerts. My favorite band is the Goo Goo Dolls, and I am going to Vegas in June 2010 to see them live for the 39th time! I love to cook and bake, and learned everything I know in that area from my wonderful Mom. I spent 4 years in technology sales, but ultimately decided to make a career change into a field I found exciting, and that I truly enjoyed. When I found NLI, I knew immediately this was where I wanted to be for a long time to come. We really are the best of the best, and it is so great to help students fulfill their dreams everyday! There is really no better place to be!

I love to laugh (sorry it’s loud and probably somewhat unattractive, but I can’t help it). My favorite color at the moment is yellow, and I do not like sandwiches. Education is of great importance to me, and I really enjoy learning and passing on helpful information! Super into anything and everything skin, as this field lets me share my excitement with other people, and see life changing events everyday as they become part of this industry! We get to make people “look good to play good,” and that is worth all best things in the world.

Kim

facultyI have been in AZ since 1991 and I love it here. I love fine wine, and my favorite place to vacation is Napa Valley. I enjoy pampering myself and think it’s important that every woman takes time out for themselves to do so. I collect stars, so anytime I am anywhere and see something with a star on it, I absolutely have to have it!  My favorite movie is Rudy, favorite flower is the Sterling Rose, favorite shoes are Jimmy Choos and my favorite color is yellow. I love National Laser Institute! It’s so rewarding to be able to assist students with a career change or enhancement that is going to better their working situation. The laser industry will skyrocket growth over the next several years and we are all so fortunate to be a part of it. It truly is one of the few occupations that allow you to make great money while still having a flexible schedule.

Bailey (the amazing) Rust

  • Hobbies: Rock crawling (yippee!), baking, painting, drawing, music and writing.
  • Pets: Animal (11-year-old Chocolate Lab)
  • Hometown: Cape Girardeau, Missouri (cow-town)
  • Favorite Treatment: Fractional – it warms my heart!

facultyI’m a L.E. and C.L.T. I moved to sunny Arizona two years ago and just never left. After two full years I knew a 4-year college just wasn’t for me, and after a couple of years in my certifications have decided to further my education in nursing school. I love animals and would have a farm in my home if I could. I love laughing and having a spunky personality. The motto I live by, that also brought me to working for NLI is this: Every time you wake up and ask yourself “What good things am I going to do today?” Remember that when the sun goes down, it will take a part of your life with it!”

Meagan

  • Hobbies: Flying helicopters, baseball, softball and running.
  • Pets: Lucy and Desi (two baby kittens)
  • Hometown: Paradise Valley, AZ
  • Favorite Treatment: Fractional Laser because it zaps my sunspots!

facultyI love all things skin and flying! I believe a woman can be strong, work hard and look beautiful all at the same time! I grew up here in Arizona, and I am reminded every day that we live in an absolutely gorgeous and friendly resort town surrounded by the mountains. Nothing compares to the purple Arizona mountains and red evening sunsets. I fly helicopters in my spare time here in Scottsdale, and I am currently pursuing my Master's Degree in Aeronautics. I played softball for 15 years and I am in the Army Reserve, so I understand the desire to look good without wearing makeup! I am passionate about helping women begin a career that helps them help people feel younger and stronger for a living. There is nothing more empowering than seeing someone finally enter a career they really enjoy! The most rewarding part of being here is seeing students and clients hugging our staff when they leave.

Marty

  • Hobbies: Hiking, skiing and scuba diving.
  • Pets: Fred (my huge tortoise)
  • Hometown: Leicester, England
  • Favorite Treatment: Laser Tattoo Removal – It corrected a couple of bad decisions I made whilst in the Marine Corp!

I moved to Arizona 15 years ago and think it is the best place to live. One of my kids is still at home, and the other two are traveling around the world. As a family, we spend a lot of time outdoors and in the summer, we head north a lot to get away from the heat! I recently completed the PF Chang Marathon and enjoyed it so much that I have started training for next year’s event. My job at National Laser Institute is the best. We get to help people from all walks of life change their careers and their lives. Talking to our students after they graduate makes me realize what a difference we make. Cheers, Marty.

Jason

  • Hobbies: I love to dance, paint and go on road trips.
  • Pets:Sadie Boogey aka “Boogey Down Bronx” (his rapper name). The one and only beat boxing Pug.
  • Hometown:Duluth, Minnesota (Arizona native for 23 years)
  • Favorite Treatment:Fractionals – I’m treating a large scar on my forehead from car accident I was in over 10 years ago.

I graduated from the Scottsdale Culinary Institute in 2001, and started working in the hospitality field shortly after. Because I am truly a people person, I had to escape from the kitchen and make my way into more customer service oriented positions of hospitality. After working in nightclub promotions for over 6 years, I decided it was time for me to find work that did not involve staying out until 3 a.m. every night. So, I started working in admissions for an Art School, and it was there I discovered my true passion of helping people. My friends and family call me Dr. Phil-ipino, because I am the one they come to for advice. Sometimes my honesty may be a bit tough for some; however, they all know my suggestions are made with only the best intent. My ultimate goal in life is changing people’s lives for the better, and I feel so privileged that I get the opportunity to do so every day working here at N.L.I. I love getting to see the smiles on my students’ faces when they arrive here for our programs; but, it is even more rewarding to see their smiles leaving, because I know that they are going back home, and utilizing the training they have received here to positively impact their life.

Stephanie

  • Hobbies: Traveling! Experiencing other cultures and surroundings feeds my soul, and time spent with friends and family, anywhere doing anything, is a good thing.
  • Pets: Mia (my Sharpei) and Huff (my rescue cat). Why Huff you ask? When adopted she had a respiratory problem so her nickname was Huff N Puff. It stuck.
  • Hometown: Mobile, Alabama. At heart I’m a Southern Belle and do believe that warm charm and a genuine smile will take you a long way!
  • Favorite Treatment: BOTOX! With my busy schedule, it actually looks like I’ve slept 10 hours and keeps me looking refreshed. Who wouldn’t love that!

faculty“They say that time changes things, but you actually have to change them yourself” – Andy Warhol

This quote is my favorite quote because to me there’s nothing more true. There’s a whole world out there to explore and the only one that can stop you from doing so is yourself! I’ve been blessed to go many places, see many things and meet a lot of amazing people. I work to live, which is a way to continue to do these things. And, I get to love what I do at the same time. Starting a new chapter in your life can often times be a huge step and a little scary. I’m here to help and support those who go through our program. Change is exciting, I look forward to being part of that with you.

  • Favorite Treatment: Laser Tattoo Removal. See me zapping my bro's tattoo! My
    dad started us young!

facultyfacultyAlthough we do look kind of young to be working at NLI daddy says by time we are old enough to officially zap clients we will be Laser light years ahead of the rest! So just like daddy revolutionized Laser Training me and my bro are going to revolutionize the way clients get treated. Here is our game plan; Since there are a whole bunch of girl customers at the medispa wouldn't these cute female clients much rather have some young male studs be zapping them with Lasers vs all these silly NLI females? I mean come on daddy we are smarter then we look!! In fact every time they come we are going to win them over by giving them a free baseball card and a sample taste of our favorite birthday cake cold stone ice cream with brownies, fudge, gummy bears and sprinkles which will we keep in a freezer in the room. Our client retention will be huge! Not sure what retention means but daddy said it means they will keep wanting to pay us money so we can buy more baseball cards! Step aside ladies the Silberman boys are in town. By the way, our good looks come from Mommy! (Sorry Daddy!)
